Frequently asked questions.

How do I reserve a picnic?

Fill out a reservation form! We will reserve your date, time and location then email you additional instructions and invoice shortly afterward. Once we have your credit card on file, your picnic is confirmed and we start planning your experience!

What if I need to cancel?

Sometimes we get excited and overbook our lives too! Although we understand needing to weed out some of the extracurricular activities, we hope we’re not one of them. No charge for cancellations 72 hours prior to your picnic. Cancellations within the 72-hour window will result in a forfeit of your deposit.

What if the weather forecast is intimidating?

In Colorado, we say “if you don’t like the weather, wait 15 minutes.” If the day-of forecast looks like the inclement weather will last longer than expected, we are more than happy to reschedule your picnic for another date. If you decide you’d rather not take a chance within  72 hours of your picnic, we will issue a full refund. Ultimately Picnic Vail gets to make the final call regarding weather….because we do not want anyone to be struck by lightning.

Will you travel outside of Vail?

Although we can not accommodate all out-of-town requests, we will try our best to say yes,  yes, yes! A travel fee will be applied based on the location and how much off-roading you are asking us to endure.

What if something is damaged or lost during our picnic?

Sometimes off-leash dogs get really curious or maybe you decide to take a dip in the river wearing one of our cow skin rugs. We’ve been there. Unfortunately irreversible damage to any of the items in the picnic set-up will be charged to the card on file.

What if we are fashionably late to our picnic?

We like your style but unfortunately, we can not extend your picnic time. You will still have every glorious minute until your picnic is scheduled to end…2 hours from when it was scheduled to begin.

What if we want to leave our picnic before our time is up?

No problem! Just text or call your picnic concierge 30 minutes before you want to leave. If you abandon ship before the picnic concierge arrives, not only will you see a $300 charge to your credit card on file, you are responsible for damage caused by wildlife, robbers, or off-leash dogs.

May we bring our dog?

We love dogs. Like really, really love dogs. But things get weird fast when a dog is around cowhide and sheepskin. Our guess is that you don’t really want to purchase a damaged picnic set-up or explain to your picnic concierge about your dog’s “newly marked territory”.

What do we wear?

We suggest practical footwear…we invite you to kick off your shoes for the duration of the picnic in the summer. For winter picnics, we kindly ask that you leave your shoes outside of the tent and enjoy the cozy atmosphere.
